2023

17/09/2023 - Wayne is Vice-World Champion

A second place finish at the fourth and final round of the UIM F:250 World Championship held in Bad Saarow, Germany moved Wayne up to silver medal position in the final championship standings.


26/06/2023 - Problems for Wayne at European Championships

At the UIM F:250 European Championship held in Chodziez, Poland Wayne was plagued with engine problems throughout the event and finished a disappointing 7th. The gold medal went to Nicola Todorov, with Max Cremona taking the silver and Ingo Hepner the bronze.

19/06/2023 - Wayne Finishes 2nd in Italy

At the third round of the UIM F:250 World Championship held in Boretto, Italy Wayne finished in second place, with the win going to Nikola Todorov and Max Cremona third. The fourth and final round of the Championship takes place in Bad Sarrow, Germany on the 15th - 16th September.

05/06/2023 - Wayne Finishes 2nd in Disrupted Second Round

At the second round of the UIM F:250 World Championship held in Znin, Poland Wayne finished in second place, with the win going to Max Cremona and Nikola Todorov third. Only one race was held for the F:250 class because of a serious incident in another class. The next round of the championship takes place in Boretto, Italy on the 17th - 18th June.

The whole team wishes Giuseppe Rossi a full and speedy recovery.

15/05/2023 - Wayne Opens World Championship Campaign with a Podium

At the first round of the UIM F:250 World Championship held in Jedovnice, Czech Republic Wayne got off to a good start by setting the fastest time in qualifying, but a DNF in the final heat race meant he had to settle for third place in the overall results. The win went to Max Cremona, with Nikola Todorov finishing second. The next round of the championship takes place in Znin, Poland on the 3rd - 4th June. Photos of the event can be found here.

2022

01/10/2022 - Wayne Secures World championship Bronze Medal

With the final round of the UIM F:250 World Championship being cancelled Wayne has secured the bronze medal position in the championship. The gold medal went to Max Cremona, with Peter Bodor taking the silver.

31/07/2022 - Wayne Finishes 2nd in Sweden

At the second round of the UIM F:250 World Championship held in Mora, Sweden consistency paid off for Wayne and he came home with a second place finish. The win went to Max Cremona, with Peter Bodor in third. This consolidates Wayne's third place in the championship table, with the third and final round scheduled for 1st - 2nd October in Boretto, Italy assuming the rivers water levels are sufficient. 27/06/2022 - Wayne secures Bronze at the European Championship

At the UIM F:250 European championship held in Znin, Poland Wayne finished in a creditable third place. The win went to Peter Bodor, with Alex Cremona second. Photos of the event can be found here.

16/05/2022 - Wayne Starts World Championship with a Podium

At the first round of the UIM F:250 World Championship held in Jedovnice, Czech Republic Wayne was suffering from a lack of fitness caused by illness, but despite this he put in a determined drive to finish in 3rd place. This was somewhat disappointing as he had the pace for a higher placed finish. The win went to Peter Bodor, with Max Cremona finishing second. The next round of the championship takes place in Boretto, Italy on the 11th - 12th June. Photos of the event can be found here.

2019

26/08/2019 - Wayne Makes Return to World Championship Competition

With Wayne getting his boat back from being repaired and testing being successful he decided to participate in the final round of the world championship. He qualified in a respectable 3rd, but electrical problems in the first race lead to mixed results. He finished in 5th place, which gave him 8th in the championship standings despite only scoring points in the last round. Photos of the event can be found here.

03/06/2019 - Wayne Crashes Out of World Championship Round 1

At the first round of the UIM F:250 World Championship held in Boretto, Italy Wayne crashed out of race 1 after hitting an unseen large piece of wood that was floating down the river. Wayne thankfully escaped with only bumps and bruises but the boat sustained significant damage, ending any further participation in the event.

This also put Wayne's participation in the upcoming European Championship in doubt.

2018

15/10/2018 - Disappointing End to European Championship

At the final round of the UIM F:250 World Championship held in Boretto, Italy Wayne finished in a disappointing 8th position despite solving the long standing engine problems and having good pace. The problems were down to the river carrying vast amounts of debris, causing a DNF in race 2 and the cancelation of race 3. Wayne finished in 7th place in the final championship standings.

17/09/2018 - Problem Continue at Round 2

At the second round of the UIM F:250 World Championship held in Kriebstein, Germany Wayne was still suffering from engine gremlins but managed to finish in 6th place overall because of some brilliant starts. This result moves Wayne up to 7th in the standings with the third and final round taking place in Boretto, Italy on the 13th - 14th October.

27/08/2018 - Problematic Start to World Championship

At the first round of the UIM F:250 World Championship held in Ternopil, Ukraine Wayne was suffering from engine problems that were significantly reducing his top speed. Despite some good defensive driving he could only manage 10th overall. The second round of the series will be held in Kriebstein, Germany on 15th - 16th September.

28/08/2017 - Wayne Secures European Silver Medal

At the final round of the UIM European F:250 championship held in Ternopil, Ukraine Wayne finished in fifth place, which moved him up to second in the final European championship standings.

03/07/2017 - Wayne finishes 3rd at Round 2

At the second round of the UIM F:250 European Championship held in Stewartby, England Wayne finished in third place. This moves him up to 4th in the championship with one round to go.

05/06/2017 - Problematic start to European Championship

At the first round of the UIM European F:250 Championship held in Boretto, Italy Wayne finished in 6th place despite a DNF (broken piston ring) in race 2.

2016

08/08/2016 - Wayne just misses out on World Championship Medal

After a DNF in the first race Wayne recovered to finish 4th in the 2016 UIM O:250 World Championship, just 24 points from a medal.

04/07/2016 - Disappointing start to F:250 European championship

A combination of a rare driving mistake and strong winds meant Wayne finished in a disappointing 6th place at the opening round of the UIM F:250 European championship. The next round will take place on the 27th - 28th August at Ternopol, Ukraine.

10/05/2016 - F:250 European Championship Round 1 - Postponed

The first round of the UIM F:250 European championship has been postponed due to the condition (height and flow) of the river Po being unacceptable for racing. The new date is yet to be confirmed.

08/05/2016 - Preseason Summary

Wayne has now made a full recovery from his injuries sustained in a crash last year and feels at home back in the boat. There have been a few glitches in preseason testing but with a win at the first LOBMBC club race of the season these problems have been solved. Wayne's next race will be the first round of the UIM F:250 European Championship at Boretto, Italy on the 14th/15th May.

2015

11/09/2015 - Wayne Turner - Injury Update

Wayne underwent surgery on Wednesday to have the fracture to his left wrist stabilised with a metal plate and screws. The surgery was successful and he was released from hospital on Friday.

07/09/2015 - O:250 World Championship - Heavy Crash leaves Wayne with Broken Bones

At the UIM O:250 World Championship held in Jedovnice, Czech Republic Wayne was involved in a collision with another competitor during the run to the first turn in race one. The impact resulted in Wayne suffering a broken wrist, which considering the damage to the boat this was very fortunate. He is currently on his way back to the UK where he will have his wrist operated on.

10/08/2015 - Wayne Secures European Silver Medal with Second in Germany

At the final round of the UIM European F:250 championship held in Bitterfeld, Germany Wayne finished second, which moved him up to second in the final European championship standings.Photos of the event can be found here.

06/07/2015 - Problematic Start to European Title Defence

At the first round of the 2015 UIM F:250 European Championship held in Baja, Hungary Wayne finished a disappointing fourth. This was a result of a DNF in the last heat race, caused by electrical problems.

01/06/2015 - Wayne Finishes in a Disappointing 5th in O:350 World Championship

At the UIM O:350 World Championship held in Trarben-Trarbach, Germany Wayne suffered from some misfortune with two DNF's and finished in 5th position, despite twice being in a position to win the world championship. Photos of the event can be found here.

18/05/2015 - Europran F:250 Round 1 - Cancelled

Heavy rain in the days leading up to the event caused the water level in the river Po to rise. This increase in water level resulted in significant amounts of debris entering the river making it unsafe to race, so the event was unfortunately cancelled.

11/08/2014 - Wayne Wins European Title with Podium in Germany

Wayne finished second at the weather affected third and final round of the UIM F:250 European Championship held in Bitterfeld, Germany, and by doing so is crowned European Champion for the second year in succession. Photos of the event can be found here.

07/07/2014 - Wayne Extends Championship Lead despite Problems

At the second round of the UIM F:250 European Championship held in Baja, Hungary Wayne suffered a disappointing DNF in the first race, but bounced back to win the final race. 12/08/2013 - Wayne takes European Title with Victory in Germany

Wayne won the weather affected fourth and final round of the UIM F:250 European Championship held in Bitterfeld, Germany, and by doing so is crowned European Champion for 2013.

09/07/2013 - Wayne is Second in Hungary

At the third round of the UIM F:250 European Championship held in Baja, Hungary Wayne finished in second position. This moves him up to second in the championship standings with one round remaining. Photos of the event can be found here.

24/06/2013 - Problems for Wayne in Czech Republic

At the second round of the UIM F:250 European Championship held in Roudnice nad Labem, Czech Republic Wayne qualified in third position but had a DNF in the first race when is engine was significantly damaged by water ingestion. However Wayne was able to rebuild his engine overnight and went on to score two third place finishes in the remaining two races. This gave him fourth place overall. 13/05/2013 - Wayne Starts European Campaign with Second Place Finish

25/09/2012 - Disappointing World Championships for Wayne

At the UIM O:250 World Championship held in Sturovo, Slovakia Wayne finished in a disappointing 8th place. This was a result of some bad luck and mechanical failures. Photos of the event can be found here.

11/09/2012 - Podium and Championship Silver Medal for Wayne in Italy

At the fourth and final round of the UIM European F:250 Championship held in Boretto, Italy Wayne finished in third place and this result meant he finished second in the championship. Photos of the event can be found here.

28/08/2012 - Second Place for Wayne in Italy

At the third round the UIM European F:250 Championship held in Auronzo di Cadore, Italy Wayne qualified in second position and went on to finish second overall. This maintains his one point lead in the championship with one round remaining. Photos of the event can be found here.

14/08/2012 - Maiden F:250 Win for Wayne

At the second round of the UIM European F:250 Championship held in Bitterfeld, Germany Wayne qualified in second position and put in an exceptional performance to win the event. This is Wayne's first international win in the 250cc class and the first different winner of an O/F:250 World or European championship event for over three years. This result gives Wayne a one point lead in the championship standings with two rounds remaining. Photos of the event can be found here.

10/07/2012 - Podium Finish at Round 1 of European Championship

At the first round of the UIM European F:250 Championship held in Baja, Hungary Wayne finished in third position. He had qualified in second position and had second place finishes in the first two heat races, but a less than ideal start in the third heat race ultimately cost him second position on the rostrum. 21/05/2012 - UIM O:250 World Championship - Cancelled

The O:250 world championship was cancelled on the grounds of safety due to the lack of water depth on certain parts of the race course. The event was cancelled on Saturday after the conclusion of free practice. This was extremely disappointing as Wayne had posted the second fastest time in free practice and the tight nature of the course suited his driving style. It is yet unknown if the event will be rescheduled at a different venue latter in the year.

08/05/2012 - Surprise Podium for Wayne in OSY400 National Championship

With the first round of the European F:250 championship having been cancelled (see previous news story) Wayne was available to accept an offer to race in the first round of the OSY400 national championship held at his local Oulton Broad circuit. This would be the first time Wayne had ever raced in this class (outboard hydroplane using a 400cc Yamato stock engine) and would be somewhat of an adventure into the unknown. The outfit Wayne was lent lacked a bit of top speed but he made up for this with some superb driving. Wayne qualified in third place and went onto take second position on the podium.

03/05/2012 - UIM F:250 European Championship Round 1 - Cancelled

Round 1 of the UIM F:250 European Championship has been cancelled because the water level in the river Po is too high and because of the vast amounts of debris that are flowing down the river. It is planned for this event to be rescheduled for later in the year.

29/04/2012 - Preseason Summary

For the 2012 season Wayne will continue to race in the 250cc outboard hydroplane category, including the British, European and World championships. There is a slight change in the equipment campaigned as Wayne has purchased the ex Julian Codling Trombetta hull. The engine Wayne will use is the same VRP engine as that of last year. Preseason testing however has not gone to plan as at the first test Wayne only managed a handful of laps because of engine problems. With the second test being cancelled due to bad weather Wayne will be going to the first round of the European championship with a lot of setup work still to do.

26/09/2011 - Wayne Takes Silver in National Championship

At the third and final round of the RYA Nation Outboard Hydroplane Championship Wayne finished in third position, with this result he finished in second place in the RYA National Outboard Championship.

05/09/2011 - Disappointing Finish to European Championship

Wayne finished in a disappointing sixth place, his lowest finish this year. This was caused by two heat race DNF's resulting from a broken propeller and an engine failure. This result means he finishes in a credible fourth place in the European UIM F:250 championship in his first year in this category.

19/08/2011 - Second Podium for Wayne in the National Championship

At the second round of the RYA Nation Outboard Hydroplane Championship (re-scheduled form earlier in the year) Wayne finished in second position. This result moves Wayne joint second in the championship standings.

15/08/2011 - Mixed fortunes for Wayne in Germany

Wayne finished in a disappointing 5th position at the third round of the F:250 European Championship held in Bitterfeld, Germany, despite showing a good turn of speed and finishing in 3rd in one of the heat races. This result drops him to fourth in the championship standings with the final round of the series taking place in Viverone, Italy on the 3rd/ 4th September.

04/07/2011 - Wayne Takes Maiden Podium in F:250 Class

At the second round of the F:250 European Championship in Baja, Hungary Wayne took his first podium finish in the 250cc class by finishing third. This result now moves him into third position in the championship.

13/06/2011 - Wayne Finishes Third in Opening Round of National Championship

At the first round of the RYA Nation Outboard Hydroplane Championship Wayne finished in third place despite suffering from engine electrical problems.

09/05/2011 - 5th at Round 1of European Championship

At the first round of the F:250 European Championship in Boretto, Italy Wayne finished in 5th position. This was a good result as this was his first competitive outing in the 250cc category.

02/06/2011 - Round 1 of National Championship - Postponed

The first round of the RYA National Outboard Hydroplane Championship due to be held at Oulton Broad, Suffolk on the 2nd May has been postponed because of strong winds and unsuitably rough water conditions. It is hoped that this event can be rescheduled for later in the year. This does however mean that Wayne will miss out on some vital testing and development time ahead of the first round of the European F:250 championship in Boretto, Italy on the 7th/8th May.

25/04/2011 - Wayne Completes Promising F:250 Test

Wayne has moved up to the 250cc class this year, running a VRP engine on a Dickfors boat. At the weekend he had his first outing in the new craft and showed promising pace considering he had to resort to a non-optimal ratio gearbox after his first broke. His first race will be Round 1 of the National Outboard Hydroplane Championship held at Oulton Broad, Suffolk on the 2nd May, with the first round of the European championship being the following weekend in Boretto, Italy.

2010

15/08/2010 - Disappointing and Problematic Start to European Championship

Wayne has had a somewhat disappointing and problematic start to the 2010 UIM European F:125 championship. At the first round held at Mora, Sweden he was suffering from a lack a pace and finished in 11th position (Wayne's worst finish in a European event). At the second round held at Bitterfeld, Germany it was technical problems that caused Wayne to have a disappointing result of 8th position. Wayne is currently placed 8th in the championship.

22/06/2010 - Damage Limitation for Wayne at Round 1 of National Championship

For Wayne to keep in the running for the National Outboard Championship he borrowed Barry's O:350 outfit for round one as his own boat was still in Italy being repaired. This meant Wayne was competing against far newer and more competitive machinery and could only manage fourth position.

15/06/2010 - Wayne Crashes Out of World Championship

In has qualification race Wayne and another competitor had a collision on the exit of the first turn. This put a small hole in the side of Wayne's boat which was quickly patched for the race restart. However as the race went on the water pressure removed the patch and increased the size of the hole, causing the boat to take on water forcing Wayne to stop as the boat was about to sink. This meant Wayne's weekend was over as there was insufficient time to make a satisfactory repair to the boat. The boat is now in Italy being repaired.

11/05/2010 - European Championship Round 1 - Postponed

The first round of the UIM European F:125 championship has been postponed due to increased water levels in the river Po. It is planned for this event to be rescheduled for later in the year.

03/05/2010 - First National Event Cancelled

Round one of the RYA National Outboard Hydroplane championship was cancelled due to the strong winds and blustery conditions present on both days. It is planned for this round to be rescheduled for later in the year. This has put Wayne at a slight disadvantage as this was the last opportunity he had to test some new parts before the first round of the European championship at Boretto, Italy on the 15th/16th May.

08/11/2009 - New National Speed Record for Wayne

At this years annual speed records week held at Coniston Water Wayne increased the National O:125 speed record to 83.41mph, just 0.9mph slower than the current World record.

29/09/2009 - Wayne is British Champion

By finishing in second place at the final round of the championship Wayne won the RYA National Outboard Championship by a single point. This is the third year in a row Wayne has been champion.

08/09/2009 - Podium at Final European Round

At the fourth and final round of the F:125 European Championship Wayne finished in 3rd place. This result moved Wayne up to 5th in the final championship standings. Henryk Synoracki was crowned F:125 European Champion, with Erko Aabrams second and Lembit Aaslav-Kaasik third.

02/09/2009 - Mixed Fortunes in Italy

Wayne suffered some engine problems and finished in 7th position in the third round of the European F:125 championship held in Auronzo, Italy. This result moves Wayne up to joint 6th position in the championship.

13/08/2009 - 4th in Germany

Wayne finished in 4th position in the second round of the European F:125 championship held in Bitterfeld, Germany. This was despite having a broken exhaust in the fourth race. This moves Wayne up to equal 7th in the championship. The third and fourth rounds of the championship are both in Italy. Round three is in Auronzo on the 29th-30th August and Round 4 is one week later in Boretto on the 5th-6th September.

29/07/2009 - Problematic stat to Championship

Wayne made a couple of driver errors at the first round of he F:125 European Championship and finished in a disappointing 10th position. The second round of the championship is in Bitterfeld Germany on the 7th-9th August.

14/07/2009 - Wayne finishes 5th in the World

Wayne finished in 5th position in the World Championship despite only taking delivery of a new VRP engine the day before the competition started. Wayne's next international race is the first round of the European Championship held in Mora Sweden on the 24th/25th July.

15/06/2009 - Wayne takes Championship Lead

At the second round of the RYA National Outboard Championship Wayne finished in third position. This result now moves him into the lead of the championship.

31/05/2009 - Wayne Finishes Second in Opening Round of National Championship

At the first round of the RYA Nation Outboard Hydroplane Championship Wayne finished in second place.

31/05/2009 - Boretto Rescheduled

Round 1 of the European F:125 championship was to be held in Boretto, Italy (9th - 10th May) but had to be cancelled due to the river being in flood. This event has been rescheduled to the 5th - 6th of September and will now be the fourth and final round of the series. This now makes Mora, Sweden (24th - 26th July) the first round of the series.

2008

12/08/2008 - Problems in Germany

At the fourth and final round UIM European F:125 Championship held in Bitterfeld, Germany Wayne finished in a disappointing ninth position due to a combination of bad weather and mechanical problems. This result meant Wayne finished fourth overall in the championship.

30/07/2008 - Podium Finish in Sweden

At the third round of the UIM European F:125 Championship held in Mora, Sweden Wayne finished in third position. This result means Wayne is now joint third in the championship standings.

06/07/2008 - Podium in Poland

At the second round of the UIM European F:125 Championship held in Mysliboz, Poland Wayne finished in second position, which moves him up to fourth in the championship standings. This is Wayne's third podium finish at the Mysliborz circuit in a row (3rd '06, 1st '07, 2nd '08).

18/05/2008 - Problems for Wayne in Italy

Wayne's performance at the first round of the UIM European F:125 Championship was hampered by engine problems. He finished in 8th position.

18/05/2008 - Wayne gets National Campaign of to a Winning Start

10/10/2007 - Problems for Wayne at World Championship

At the 2007 F:125 World Championship held in Znin, Poland Wayne suffered from a broken propeller and a collision in his qualifying race. Wayne finished in 7th.

30/09/2007 - Wayne Secures National Title with Second Place

Wayne finished in second place in the third and final round of the RYA National Outboard Hydroplane Championship. This result means that Wayne has won the championship. This is the first time Wayne has won the title in four years of trying.

27/09/2007 - Wayne Finishes European Championship with Medal

At the final round of the UIM European F:125 Championship Wayne finished in fifth place. This result meant Wayne has finished in bronze medal position. The championship was won by Salvatore Chiuri.

15/08/2007 - Fourth Place Despite Crash

At the third round of the UIM F:125 European Championship held in Bitterfeld, Germany Wayne finished in fourth place despite crashing out of one race. This maintains Wayne’s second place in the championship with one round left.

10/07/2007 - World Championships Cancelled because of bad Weather

The 2007 UIM O:125 World Championships held in Znin, Poland were abandoned do to high winds and rough water conditions without any of the competitors having chance to take to the water. It is planned for the event to be rescheduled for the 6th and 7th of October at the same venue.

24/06/2007 - Maximum Points Win for Wayne

Wayne has won Round 2 of the UIM European F:125 Championship with a maximum 1200 points and a race to spare! Wayne qualified in 2nd position and went on to win the first three races. This is Wayne's best result at international level, and hopes to repeat this performance in the World Championships in two weekend's time. This win moves Wayne in to second in the championship.

18/07/2006 - Wayne to miss Estonia and Sweden

Wayne will not be competing in the Estonian and Swedish rounds of the European F:125 Championship. This is because he is currently recovering from a collapsed lung. This is a disappointment as he stood a very good chance of a podium finish if not a win. Wayne hopes to be fit again for the fourth and final round of the European championship held in Bitterfeld Germany on the 11th - 13th August. This will be in preparation for the World Championships a fortnight later in Auronzo Italy

Wayne will be competing in the first round of the European F:125 Championship in Riesa Germany on the 4th and 5th of June. This will be Wayne's second international. His first was the final round of the European Championship F:125 Champion in Bitterfeld Germany, where he came second joint equal on points
